Amp Header

Amp came in previously repaired condition. Previous work was less than ideal with burned part residue left all over the area that failed. Overall the amp was in fair condition but needed some real attention. Audio driver card and output inductors were no longer adhered to the pcb and were free to shift around and become damaged. There were a few capacitors that were exposed to extreme heat when the amplifier had previously failed. The main complaint with the amplifier was early clipping and extremely reduced output power.

Amp needed some clean up work. The output inductors that were no longer adhered to the board needed some shrink sleeving isolation added to areas that the enamel had been worn away and caused shorting. The driver card pins were cleaned up and inserted and adhesive was replaced to hold the board firmly in location. There were some failed components in the power supply feedback chain which triggered the amp to not produce full rail power. The main supply was running at approximately a 5.6% duty cycle instead of an approximate 48% which caused severe voltage drops to the output section when the amplifier was presented to a load.
